Kristin is the Founder, Owner, and Clinical Director of Axis. Kristin is also the head of the Ethics Committee at Axis. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and a Licensed Behavior Analyst under the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Grand View University, and her Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Kristin has spent most of her career focusing on the early detection and intervention of autism spectrum disorder and specializing in early intervention. She is an active member of the Iowa Association for Behavior Analysis and participant with the Autism Society of Iowa and Autism Speaks Iowa. Kristin founded Axis on her passion for serving children and families living with autism and special needs. Kristin lives in Maxwell with her husband and three children. In her free time, she enjoys playing softball, volleyball, kickboxing, attending movies and concerts, traveling, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Auburn Tigers, Chicago Cubs, and Atlanta Braves. 

Kylie is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and a Licensed Behavior Analyst under the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science. Kylie is the Site Supervisor of our Ames location, and part of Axis' Ethics Committee. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology through Iowa State University, and her Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis through Saint Joseph’s University. Kylie has experience working with children in the field of mental health, ages 10 to 17; and experience in the school setting working with elementary to middle school aged students. After having several years of experience working with children, Kylie got to know more about Applied Behavior Analysis and saw the positive changes in behavior ABA services provide. Kylie enjoys biking, running, and being outdoors in the summer time. She loves to visit new places and spend time with family and friends. Kylie is excited to be at Axis to offer dedication and support for children and their families.  Kylie is the site supervisor at our Ames location.

 

Occupational Therapists

Occupational Therapist 

Whitney is an Occupational Therapist certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and licensed in the state of Iowa. Whitney graduated with her Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from Drake University. She has always had a strong passion for helping others and has decided to specialize in Pediatric Occupational Therapy. She graduated from Truman State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a Minor in Disability Studies. Whitney has always been interested in working with children with disabilities, especially after growing up with an older brother and younger sister who are both on the Autism Spectrum. Whitney also gained a passion for working with individuals with disabilities through volunteer coaching for the Arc of Story County. Whitney has Certifications in SOS Feeding Therapy and MNRI Reflex Integration. Whitney lives in Maxwell with her husband, two dogs named Mackey (Go Purdue) and Rizzo (Go Cubs), and a cat named Cali. She loves to play slow pitch softball, playing with animals, going hiking, country music, and baseball season. Whitney hopes that she can help the children and families we serve get the most out of every single day and that she can advocate for and support our clients to reach their goals and become as independent as possible.

Speech Language Pathologist

Casey is a Speech-Language Pathologist certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and licensed by the state of Iowa. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Northern Iowa. From her time as a student clinician until now, Casey has had experience working with a wide range of clients, including children of all ages in both educational and clinical settings. However, her passion for serving children with autism and their families was what made her most excited to accept a position as an SLP with Axis. Outside of work, Casey loves spending as much time as possible with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoys exercising, singing, watching movies, eating good food, and participating in her church.

Registered Behavior Technician

Sydney is a Registered Behavior Technician credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. She received her Bachelor of Science degree  in Child, Adult, and Family Services at Iowa State University. Sydney has always known she wanted to work with children, and found her passion working with children with disabilities. Sydney values every relationship she has with the children she works with and loves watching them grow as an individual. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and doing DIY projects.

Registered Behavior Technician

Camryn is a Registered Behavior Technician credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Camryn is studying at Iowa State University and working toward her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Camryn’s future plans are to go to medical school and become a Psychiatrist. Camryn has always had a passion of working with children and enjoys helping children learn and grow! In her free time, Camryn enjoys golfing, traveling with family and friends, and shopping.

Maggie Rolf -
Registered Behavior Technician

Erin is a Registered Behavior Technician credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism at Ball State University. She is accruing her supervision hours in order to further her career in the field of ABA. Erin has experience working with children between the ages of 18 months and 18 years and has a passion for helping children improve their communication skills. In her free time, Erin likes to travel, spend time outside, and relax with family and friends. 

Maggie Rolf - Registered Behavior Technician

Maggie is a Registered Behavior Technician credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. She is currently a senior at Iowa State University majoring in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. After graduation, Maggie plans to obtain a career in the Occupational Therapy field. Maggie began to pursue this career in high school after working at a basketball camp for children with mental and physical disabilities. She has experience as a child caregiver as well as a summer nanny – she loves kids! In her free time, Maggie enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and being active.

Hollie is a Registered Behavior Technician credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. She received her Bachelors of Liberal Arts & Sciences, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Development and Family Services at Iowa State University. Hollie has always known she has wanted to help others and has always been a people person. She has experience with children aged 12 months to 18 years. She has previously worked with children struggling with mental illness, disabilities and behavioral obstacles. In her free time Hollie enjoys spending time with her dog, family and friends. She loves being outdoors, cooking and singing along to music.

Dakotah is a Registered Behavior Technician credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services and Psychology from William Penn University, and is currently working towards her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis through The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dakotah has experience working with a wide variety of children in many different settings. She realized at a young age that she wanted to work with children. She has a passion for making a difference in people's life. She loves being able to see the progress that the children are making. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her fiancé and their two dogs Mable and Oaklie. She enjoys being outside, going on walks, watching movies and spending time with family and friends. Dakotah loves being a part of a great company and making a difference in many children’s lives.

Client Relations Specialist

Kayla is currently a senior at Iowa State University double majoring in linguistics and English Education with an endorsement Teaching English a Second Language (TESL). She previously attended Indian Hills Community College where she received an A.A. degree and also participated in women's soccer. After Kayla graduates from Iowa State she plans to become an ESL teacher for elementary/middle schoolers. Kayla has experience tutoring children and adults from various countries in English. In her free time, she enjoys being with her boyfriend and going hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and going to the beach. She also loves to travel and spend time with their cat Theo.

Tatiana Gau -
Behavior Technician

Molly is currently a sophomore at Iowa State University working toward her Bachelor’s degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services. After graduation, she hopes to find a career that will allow her to make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families. She found a passion for working with young children while in high school, where she worked at a daycare and was paired with children with behavioral struggles and disabilities. In her free time, she loves being outside, going on adventures with friends, and spending time with her family and her three dogs.

Tatiana is currently a senior at Iowa State University majoring in Psychology. After graduation, she plans to continuing her education to acquire her Master's degree. After working at a placement facility with a strong focus on behavioral rehabilitation, Tatiana was motivated to continue pursuing a career that would involve helping others. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cats, Boo and Minnie. They are currently on a weight loss journey, so she takes them on walks outside. She also likes to travel, play tennis, bike, and spend time with her significant other and friends.
